My first environment exercise for the Perspective module. We were asked to pick a simple theme, and I picked 'War' as mine. Most of the environment studies as well as the final product seen here were inspired heavily from various WW2 video games, such as Red Orchestra 2 and Men of War: Assault Squad 2, which are excellent games btw! Was also binge-watching Eastern Front-related movies like Stalingrad (bot 1993 and 2013 versions) and Enemy At the Gates, just to immerse myself to draw this, and had a swell time finishing up, with valuable advice from classmates and teachers. (Disclaimer: For you history buffs, details may not be completely historically accurate, nor did I claim it as such.)

Although on a serious note, thinking about all the stories shared by various people recounting their own experiences on the Eastern Front humbles me greatly. The true horrors of the Great Patriotic War and the lives lost by both sides can never be undone, but as the current generation, I feel it is our duty to remember them and learn from the mistakes of the past.

This is a good picture. However, I am going to nitpick a bit. The soviet soldiers should be wearing faux fur hats, not helmets. During the winter they were not issued the steel soviet helms.
