Just an update on recent events and other stuff.
It's been an interesting 2 years of army life and while it wasn't to my expectations, it was an experience and a pleasure meeting different kinds of people. Interesting people. People I'd call friends.
The downright weird.
And even the ones I've wished I had never met......
Now just counting down the months to my ORD (operationally-ready-date), which would be somewhere in the first week of June. Just need to tie up all my loose ends and I'm ready to face outside life.
Well, it is kind of confirmed and I am packing up as I type. I'll be going overseas for the next couple of weeks or so. It seems the SAF has seen fit for my platoon to assist in an overseas exercise; my first and (hopefully) last one before my ORD. I can't say much, but I will be going to Thailand for the next 3 weeks or so. The possibility of getting 3G connection there is kinda slim for me ('jungle' and 'good reception' don't exactly go together
) so I highly doubt I'll get time to reply any of my messages, let alone submit any work at all. I will however, bring along a couple of sketch pads and pencils and maybe work on stuff while the exercise is on it's downtimes. No rest for an artist, especially in the military. Despite the recent turmoil in the capital
, the top brass has assured us our safety and hopefully the situation improves and nothing happens to me and my comrades while I am there. Well, my flight is in 2 days time as of the day of this journal, and I have a long, long, looooong
period of work ahead of me, but as long as I think of all the things I've yet to draw and the people at home, I don't think there's much to worry about.
See you guys in 3 weeks then!
LCP LuLZ over and out!
